Write your ad as though you are strolling around the yard and walking through the home. Describe the neighborhood, the yard and the interior of the home in a chatty tone. Simply write just like you talk, that's the secret to a great description to sell your home online.

Not a writer, you say? Well, this is a good time to call on a friend or family member who prides himself or herself on being a writer. Ask for help, and treat your writer to dinner or a gift certificate in return. If writing just like you talk is difficult for you, and you have no writer friend or relative handy, here's another tip: Get a tape recorder and walk around your yard and walk through your house describing what you see. Take your time and get it all on tape. Then play your tape and transcribe it. Yes, the process can be a little time consuming, but if that's what it takes to attract your perfect buyer, is it worth the trouble to you? Write your ad, then write a great headline and get it posted online. Prepare yourself to show and sell your home because you will get calls with a powerful classified ad like that.
